The Journey Began – Outback Sheds
Employed over 10 Staff
Rob McHugh, Carpenter & Contractor’s licence (Sheds, structural steel & concrete)
Outback Sheds had a nominee for an Open Builder Licence
1995
Started Our Shed Estimator Program
Early 2000’s
Simplicity Steel Buildings started and our first reseller was signed up – Franklin Constructions
2005
McHugh Constructions Started Up
Robert McHugh
Rob got his low-rise building licence, to be able to expand and do larger projects!
Employed over 15 staff now
Did manufactured housing for Ensham mines, local jobs, farmers, 2PH farms, Sunwater paradise dam

Sheds for You
Sonja started the business in 2005
Sold sheds and McHugh constructions installed it.

Rob gained his medium-rise building licence to be able to expand further.
Added our next extension to Phoebe Cres factory. This is now (2025) where brackets (Laser-cut machine) and our boiler making takes place.

The Start of our Steel Framing Journey –
We got an Enduroframe machine!
McHugh Steel is proud to be the first in Queensland at this point to have the roll forming machine, ENDUROFRAME®. This technology allows us to provide you with your frames & trusses with precision and speed, ensuring your building project stays on track.
