Apollo engaged McHugh Steel to supply steel framing and roof trusses for the Club House at Ingenia Communities’ Eagle Nest development in Hervey Bay. The scope included full-service delivery—from tender to installation—of over 20 tonnes of steel.
Ingenia Communities is developing a modern retirement village focused on high-quality infrastructure and amenities. As part of this initiative, the Club House was designed as the central communal hub for residents. To support this vision, Apollo, the lead contractor, partnered with McHugh Steel for their expertise in reliable and efficient steel solutions.
One of the key challenges, however, was managing ongoing design changes throughout the project. These required a high level of coordination and flexibility. Nevertheless, McHugh Steel successfully delivered a custom, quality-assured solution tailored to the evolving needs of the client.
To ensure consistency and control, McHugh Steel adopted a fully integrated approach—managing everything in-house from detailing to manufacturing. This allowed the team to quickly respond to changes while maintaining tight quality standards. The framing and truss systems were engineered for both strength and ease of installation, while efficient transport and on-site coordination helped minimise delays.
In addition, rigorous quality checks were carried out at every stage to ensure the final product met updated specifications and maintained top standards.
