Millmerran Hospital
McHugh Steel partnered with FKG Group to deliver steel framing for the new Millmerran Hospital in Queensland’s Darling Downs region. This facility is part of a government-funded upgrade to improve healthcare access for the local community.
The new Millmerran Hospital is a purpose-built regional healthcare facility designed to meet the evolving needs of the local community. The development includes modern treatment rooms, dedicated consultation areas, and enhanced patient recovery spaces. For staff, the hospital offers upgraded workstations, breakout rooms, and improved amenities to support comfort, efficiency, and staff wellbeing. The design team created the layout to optimise workflow and improve patient accessibility, focusing on delivering high-quality care in a regional setting.
Built to the latest healthcare design standards, the facility also incorporates energy-efficient systems and future-ready infrastructure to support ongoing growth in the region.
Our Scope
McHugh Steel was engaged to:
-
Manufacture and install steel framing
-
Supply 88 tonnes of steel
-
Deliver materials via 14 semi-trailer loads
-
Coordinate with FKG’s schedule for seamless installation
We fabricated all the steel in our Bundaberg workshop and delivered it in stages to align with the build timeline.
Delivery & Installation
We delivered all 14 truckloads on schedule. We timed each delivery to reduce congestion and keep the site running smoothly.
Our installation team worked closely with FKG on-site. Our team completed the framing efficiently and exactly to spec, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
