Supporting Queensland’s Growing Schools with Steel Solutions
McHugh Steel was proud to be selected by FK Gardner & Sons (FKG) as the steel supplier and installer for the Park Ridge State School project in Logan Reserve, Queensland. The project was part of a broader investment in school infrastructure to support the area’s rapid population growth.
Our role? Delivering a complete steel solution—from design and manufacturing to delivery and on-site installation.
The project involved:
-
Manufacturing over 200 tonnes of structural steel wall frames
-
28 semi-trailer loads delivered from our Bundaberg facility to Logan Reserve
-
On-site installation of all framing, working in sync with FKG’s construction schedule
Each steel component was engineered to exact specifications, ensuring fast, safe assembly on-site and compliance with all relevant building codes and safety standards.
Steel Delivery & Logistics
With over 200T of steel to transport, logistics were key. McHugh Steel’s delivery team developed a carefully staged delivery plan, aligned with FKG’s construction milestones. We delivered 28 semi-trailer loads right on schedule, keeping the project moving smoothly and preventing costly site delays.
Our team handled every delivery with care, ensuring materials arrived safely, securely, and ready for immediate use.
Installation & Collaboration
Working alongside FK Gardner & Sons, our experienced site crew managed the installation of all steel frames, delivering:
-
Smooth integration with construction timelines
-
High-quality workmanship
-
A strong focus on site safety and clear communication
By managing both supply and install, we streamlined the process and reduced complexity for the client.
